The Griffin Law Charitable Foundation was created by our Founder to support national and international charities that fit with the Foundation’s ethos and pre-established requirements. Each month, the trustees of the Foundation meet to discuss how to dispense up to £1,000 to good works that may benefit from our funding.

Snodland Cricket Club

Snodland Cricket Club approached the foundation for assistance in purchasing a container to store equipment. Then Snodland Town Council increased the yearly rent by £150 and outlined that the club will now need to pay the water bill. This put additional pressure on the finances of the club.

Tom Carlse

Emma’s friend, Tom,  received an elbow to the throat whilst playing football. After being taken by ambulance to Dareth Valley Hospital, a CT scan revealed the severity of his injury. The force of the blow had fractured his larynx in multiple places, and he needed emergency surgery. The surgeons inserted a breathing tube, placed Tom in an induced coma, put him on a ventilator, and moved him to Intensive Care.

The following morning, Tom was transferred to the ICU at Guy’s Hospital in London and was placed under the care of the ENT specialists. After five and a half days in the induced coma, they inserted a tube into his throat and he was woken up.

Three weeks on and Tom remains at Guy’s Hospital and although his vocal cords were heavily compromised from the injury, he is now able to talk. Tom is father to 19-month-old twin boys, and the past three weeks have been incredibly tough on him, his boys, and his whole family.

Tom runs his own business as a Sports Coach. He works across primary schools in Kent delivering PE Lessons, after-school clubs, Football Coaching Sessions, and half-term holiday camps.

The GoFundMe page has been set up to help Tom and his family during this difficult time, and any donation that the Foundation can make would be greatly appreciated.
